With the Paris and Milan fashion shows over, there is no longer any doubt as to what will be the key trends for the coming autumn winter 2022. The big brands have brought a myriad of proposals for the men’s closet, but as always, some stand out above others. Here we show you what, in our opinion, are the 8 big trends for next season.
THE LETTERMAN JACKETS
Louis Vuitton, Kenzo and Philipp Plein, among others, have brought back this garment that always returns to the catwalk from time to time. Each one with its own style in variations of color, material, etc
THE DRESSES
This year the men’s collections have hijacked the dress from the women’s closet, making it completely their own. Brands like Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Dries Van Noten and JW Anderson propose to wear them with style and different lengths, rejecting gender norms and experimenting in the purest current style.
LEATHER ENSEMBLES
Leather continues its firm predominant trend in multi-piece ensembles that include jackets and pants, above all. With a mix of Matrix and rocker style, the brands put the material and its finish as the strong point of their looks.
THE FURS
From wool-lined aviator coats to faux fur trims, fur is making a comeback not only for its beautiful aesthetics but also for its warmth. With an obvious inspiration from the 90’s look, this resource is reinvented in modern notes and designs. Some brands are Prada, Sacai or GMBH.
BALACLAVAS
Since the end of 2021, they have known how to play a good role as a winter garment. The presence of this accessory on several catwalks, such as a heart-shaped balaclava by Loewe, shows that there are still many balaclava designs to come.
HOURGLASS SILHOUETTE
Mostly seen in tailored suits, it brings a certain feminine touch. We highlight those shown by Dior, Vetemens and Dunhill.
XXL DOWN JACKETS
This season, designers are tackling a whole new version of the down jacket, in super-sized codes. Nothing to complain about if you intend to flee the cold.
CUTTING-EDGE (d’avant-garde) ACCESSORIES
Rick Owens or JW Anderson have brought to the fall/winter 2022 men’s accessories section a myriad of artistic elements. Of particular note, for example, are Louis Vuitton’s angel wings.
