With out any doubt, the Oscar gala of this 2022 will be remembered, by many, as the moment when Will Smith unleashed the troubled teenage boy he used to play in the series “The Prince of Bel-Air” when starting acting. We couldn’t agree more with this, but it’s also worth noting how impressive many celebrities’ red carpet look proposals have been. The austere and simple black two-piece suits that were the norm just a decade ago, now cease to be an obligatory choice and give way to a new era of different cuts and silhouettes pieces, vibrant colors and or pastel shades, beading, embellishments and transparencies, etc.

After a few devastating years for the industry, as a result of the pandemic, it is now that the world of cinema and one of its most iconic staging, the Oscar gala, resurfaces with the novelty and paradigm shift in the male wardrobe as a trend for years to come. From Alexander Magazine team we bring you 8 of the best menswear looks of this year that you can not miss:

1.ANDREW GARDFIELD. The actor of Tick, Tick, Boom…! and Spiderman opted for a semi-western Saint Laurent suit. A dark red velvet blazer over a black shirt, accompanied with a sophisticated ribbon, instead of a tie. A very classic outfit that fitted him perfectly.

2.JAY RELLIS wore a Dolce&Gabanna white single-breasted tuxedo with contrasting peak lapels and silk satin details paired with a black tuxedo shirt and a crystal brooch. An elegant and sophisticated look that the actor paired with black derby shoes.

3.TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET. As usual, the actor didn’t let us down with his choice for the reed carpet. Instead, He wore a jaw-dropping Louis Vuitton glitter jacket with nothing underneath, a double chain and his classic dress boots is a combo anyone must try at least once. A look that he combined with a Cartier necklace.

4.REECE FELDMAN. Movie Academy invited TikTok star Reece Feldman to create buzz on Hollywood’s biggest night after reaching one of its lowest ratings in the show’s history last year. He chose a pink jacket, plus cropped trousers, plus big clompy catholic schoolboy shoes. What (we think) was one of the most extravagant but cool outfits of that night.

5. KODI SMIT-McPHEE. Australian actor, up for best supporting actor on the back of The Power of the Dog became also a serious contender for best-dressed in a powder blue suit, signed by Mosquino that’s as futuristic as it is Graceland.

6. SIMU LIU. One of our most recent beloved Marvel heroes is also one of our greatest style heroes. For the gala He wore a full red single-breasted suit with golden Medusa buttons and other details in gold jewelry, the total absence of belt and patent leather loafers. A custom Atelier variation of a silhouette from the Versace Spring-Summer 2022 collection, mad out of virgin wool.

7. SHAWN MENDES. The singer wore a black double-breaste Dolce&Gabanna Martini-fit suit with satin peak lapels over a white tuxedo shirt with black studs and a classic satin bow tie.

8.SEBASTIAN YATRA. Colombian singer, nominated for best song with “Dos Oruguitas”, astonished audience by daring with a three-piece in one suit of the colors of the season (pink) that he even matched with his shoes. Suit was signed by Moschino and it was combined too with a black bow tie.
