Fusion between Adidas and Prada is in fact what we all wanted
New year 2022 had just started when, on January 5th , it surprised us all by bringing a new and by no means predictable collaboration between two of the biggest names of the fashion industry: Prada and Adidas. This joint between the two was not its first time working together as they already collaborated on 2019. By that time, they produced a pack of Adidas’ Superstar pair sneakers and a bowling bag from Prada, sold together. Nothing compared to what it was going to come in the future (this just released year).
The two parts, as they did before, mixed both brand’s imagery and values, resulting on Adida’s sportwear spirit and 3 stripes iconic sign raised up to Prada’s quality and high luxury essences. Meaning they created a casual but elegant proposal, with minimal aesthetic and super clean finishes. What made this time different from previous collaborations, was that the collection not only produced several models of footwear and bags, but it also worked on designing ready to wear garments and other accessories too.
The collection used Prada’s Re-Nylon textile, made out of recycled plastics (found on oceans), fishing nets, and textile fiber waste. Furthermore, it takes the metallic triangle logo of Prada into Adidas’ redesigned classic sneakers “Originals Forum” and into sleek, innovative, and refined black and white jackets, hats and track suits. All brought to its accounts under the hashtag #adidasforPrada.
