Pierpaolo Lazzarini is a very known man in the world of the boats innovation. They proposed the Stratosfera Concept, a superyacht inspired in swans, and the amphibious catamaran called Pagurus, that is propelled by solar energy. And the last project is the Air Yacht, a future design of a big yacht that could sail on the water and fly in the skies, with zero emissions too.
The concept has two 150 meters airships connected to an 80 meters central hull by eight carbon fiber bridges. It is expected to achieve 60 knots, with eight opposed electric rotors in the side, supplied by ultralight batteries and photovoltaic solar panels. The two airships will be full of helium affording the yacht to fly, and they will be divided in in hives. The mechanism is that when the vehicle is flying, the compressed helium is realising and could supply enough propulsion to 48 hours of travel to 60 knots, and make a safety landing on the water. In the water it will achieve 5 knots.
The central part of this Air Yacht will have 10 meters width with a principal cabin with 360 degrees view, with a big dining room and meeting room. In each airship will be five suites for the passengers, and a special suite in the centre with 360 degrees view too. There are windows on each airship to the sky or the water, and in the central part is the possibility to build a heliport if the owner wants to arrive in helicopter.
The creator Pierpaolo Lazzarini has said that “with 629 million dollars will be enough to build an Air Yacht”. This project was presented some months ago and, for the moment, no more information has been revealed, nor the date neither the price of this yacht. But it looks like it will be done in the next years, and more projects that this man or other people could flying invents in the future.
