Outlander is one of the most successful romantic and fantasy series of recent years. As many of us already know, the series tells the love story between Jamie and Claire (who traveled back in time when she met him) that managed to fascinate and move millions of viewers around the world. This is why the success of the series has led to the creation of a larger universe that will include a spin-off of the series. Something very popular that we can see with numerous successes, the clearest being House of the Dragon, which is a prequel to Game of Thrones.
This new series will be called Outlander: Blood of My Blood and will tell the love story of Jamie Freaser’s parents: Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. This story, like the original, is also based on a book by Diana Gabaldon, who will participate as producer and script consultant for the audiovisual adaptation.
The executive producer will be Matthew B. Roberts, who is also in charge of the seventh season of Outlander. On the other hand, we still do not have a specific date for the premiere of this spin-off, but we do know that it will premiere in 2023 and that it will be produced by StarzPlay.
It was in an official statement from StarzPlay when the president of programming, Kathryn Busby expressed her enthusiasm for working on a production in the world of Outlander, not only because of the great reception from the public but also because of the challenge of adapting this fantasy world in a way that does justice to the novels and, of course, to the series that follows the story of Jamie and Claire.
In the meantime, fans of the series are awaiting the release of the seventh season, which is currently in full production and is expected to be released early next year.
