HBO Has Announced That It Will Premiere In June 2024
Fans of Game of Thrones have been waiting since October 2022 for the second season of this spin-off. House of the Dragon tells the story of an internal succession war within House Targaryen at the height of its power, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys. Here is what we know about the episodes to come.
The Plot
Back in December 2023, the first teaser was released so fans could get a taste of what to expect. The political tensions seem at their peak with the war for the throne is around the corner.
Release Date
This Monday during a conference, HBO and Warner Brothers confirmed that the second season of the Game of Thrones spin-off will premiere in June. However, there is still no confirmed release day.
The Casting
Among many new cast members, HBO announced Gayle Rankin as Alys, the Witch Queen of Harrenhal, Simon Russell Beale to play Ser Simon Strong, the great-uncle to Matthew Needham‘s Lord Larys Strong, and Freddie Fox, who is set to star as Ser Gwayne Hightower. He is Queen Alicent Hightower‘s brother and Otto Hightower‘s son. Abubakar Salim, who will play Alyn of Hull, is also joining the cast.
Most of the cast will be returning, with the notable exception of one popular actress. Milly Alcock, who played a young version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, has been cast as Supergirl in the next DC Comics movie.
