On a hot Thursday night at the of May, Kim Jones presented his new collection in collaboration with Eli Russell Linnetz (ERL) for Dior Men SS23. The event was set up in Los Angeles, California and thanks to this many celebrities were able to come.
Like Blake Gray, one of the most interesting content creators that have come from social media. From Vine to Tiktok he has arrived to a level of fame beyond suspicion just with 21 years of life. Although he participated in Magcon 2016, one of the most famous tours of social media celebrities that is going to exist ever, along Cameron Dallas and Jacob Sartorius (to name a few) he step out of the social media scene after this stressful time. He came back being part of the Sway House, a group of young boys which work was to create content together. After the break of this congregation, we have seen Blake getting some sponsor with big fashion brands and we have seen him in different events like Coachella this year.
This collection is called California Couture due to the mixed of styles from the different creators in the codes of Dior. Both creatives went back in the DNA of the french house to rediscover and put their spin on some garments. Their experiments resulted in this collection which is an ode to the American masculinity with a french filter on. The patterns are incredible, the use of the saddle bag is always a plus and the different textiles used gave the looks a very refine result. Furthermore, maximalism is one of the big concepts behind every piece in the runway, working as a union between chaos and perfectionism. At that we can see in the next images, how boys are getting more into considerate what they are wearing and I think in this collection is a good representation of how you can style clothes in a way where it looks from totally different social worlds.
