It has been 20 years since Avril Lavigne released her first album, Let Go, in the same place in New York. It included songs such as I’m with you and Tomorrow, which would lead and maintain her worldwide success for decades. Now, taking advantage of the anniversary, the singer wanted to return to her past in a very special way.
The Canadian artist has decided to return to New York, to the very same place where the photograph that was on the album cover was taken. There she has recreated that image, even wearing a very similar outfit to the one she wore on that day.
This is what she herself has shown on her social networks. Through TikTok, Lavigne has shared a video in which she shows how this recreation has been carried out, which has turned out to be very special for her.
The singer doesn’t understand that her songs are still being sung. “It’s hard to try to understand how, 20 years later, the songs I wrote when I was 17 still resonate with people today. It’s pretty crazy.
Let Go was Avril’s springboard to the international music scene, it included hits such as I’m with you or Tomorrow that would lead her to top the charts from one side of the globe to the other and to become one of the leading names of the time.
