Following the release of Bad Bunny‘s latest album, Un Verano Sin Ti, all international music charts and rankings have exploded with new songs from the Puerto Rican artist.

Official album cover

Just a few days ago, Un Verano Sin Ti reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 best-seller list and four of the album’s tracks ranked in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. With almost 300,000 sales (physical and digital), Bad Bunny broke his own personal record for the best sales week of his entire career.

In addition, it was a historic moment in the music industry, as Un Verano Sin Ti became only the second Spanish-language album to reach the top spot on the Billboard chart in its 66-year history. More interestingly, it was also a Bad Bunny album that became the first Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 for the first time in 2020 with El Último Tour del Mundo.

In the album we can notice that the artist keeps his characteristic reggaeton style, but also includes other latin rhythms and sounds, such as the mix of bossa nova and the dembow hybrid or the inclusion of mambo in some of his songs.

The album also generated a lot of buzz on Spotify and Apple Music after becoming this year’s album with the most plays in its first week of release, which also led Bad Bunny to become the most listened to artist globally in just one day with over 183 million plays. In fact, on Apple Music it also broke a world record after positioning itself as the album with the highest number of plays on the platform.

Of all the songs on the album, Moscow Mule stands out above the rest, as it has been recognized as the latin song with the most plays on its first day in the history of Apple Music.

The publicity with which the singer and his team had promoted the album has had a lot to do with the success of the album, and they even created a very original marketing strategy. This consisted in putting Bad Bunny’s famous Bugatti on sale, and those who called interested in buying it, could listen exclusively to one of his new songs. Pretty interesting, isn’t it?

Bad Bunny is still going strong with each of his new works, and after the success of Un Verano Sin Ti we are looking forward to see what else the artist has in store now that his career is at its peak.
