This year, BBMAs were all about the female artist such as Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Taylor Swift, but we cannot forget about the male side that in some cases in the red carpet are making good and different moves comparing them to other times. Menswear is seeing the light in the end of the tunnel and we can finally say some good thing about it.
The perfect example of a celebrity that is a model in menswear getting better in each red carpet is clearly Machine Gun Kelly. He is wearing in this occasion a Dolce & Gabanna custom crop top suit with a embedded high neck shirt underneath. His nails also match the reflective pearl and is reflecting the trend of men getting into manicure to look better and to up their outfit to the next level. And the fact that the whole look is in coordination with Megan Fox, his current partner and with who he fell in love two years ago, is everything and never seen before; because at no time we have seen a couple getting this iconic and generate a high level of anticipation in every red carpet.
The pair has come with amazing outfits since they officialized their relationship and it as been a truly favor for the fashion community. Because between the looks of both of them exist a chemistry that is unique. They used the hype brands of the moments too and is always good to see that.
But his legacy in the current fashion world not only depends on his apparitions in red carpets, he also do big statements in the editorial world where he differentiates from other. Due to the used of bold color combinations in clothes and background, weird in menswear, and without oversexualizing himself.
In conclusion, he is not only a great musician (he even won the BBMA to the Best Rock Artist) and have great albums such as mainstream sellout and bloom, but also he is using his image presence in the industry to create an aesthetic that you cannot find in any other artist, no one in the rock field give you this variety of looks and styles. And that is to recognize.
Second and third position of best dressed in this edition of BBMAs go to Giveon and Rauw Alejandro. The first one that won best new artist of 2022 BBMAs is dressed with one of the suits of the first collection by Matthieu Blazy (Bottega Veneta), going away from the other red carpets where he used Chanel, this is a new start for the artist fashion style. In the case of one of the most impactful latino artist of the last decade, he trusted in a latin up-coming fashion brand (Willy Chavarría) that is killing it in the editorial industry right now. This outfit gave the feeling of the artist, kinda hot but always stylish.
To round up the classification we have Travis Scott, Burna Boy and Jack Harlow. The comeback of Travis into the public scene after Astroworld’s tragedy, it seems continuous from a fashion perspective. He is rocking the suit made by Matthew Williams (Givenchy) and styling it with some Nikes to reflect the sportwear legacy that Virgil Abloh gave us years ago. With Burna Boy we are seeing that sportwear trend to the fullest thanks to the used of a matching tracksuit that bet for new black own brands (Gerrit Jacob being one tem) that are so necessary in this white supremacy industry that is fashion. And final one is Jack Harlow who trusted Musika to dressed him with a perfectly match suit that fit so good in him.
