Billie Eilish has premiered two new singles titled TV and The 30th, two songs that are already featured on Spotify’s This is Billie Eilish playlist, although it seems that both songs have been revealed much earlier by both this platform and Apple Music.
The artist has confirmed that both songs are the first she has written for her third studio album, of which we still do not have a specific release date. However, one of these songs, TV, was already presented by the artist live from a concert in Manchester. It is an acoustic ballad in which Billie talks about several current issues, such as the controversial reform of the abortion law in the United States or the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. On the other hand, The 30th describes the singer’s own experiences after the accident of a good friend of hers.
The author of Ilomilo is currently on vacation after completing the first leg of her world tour. On August 13 she will resume her live tour in Asia and finally she will visit New Zealand and Australia for the last leg of her tour, which will conclude on September 30 in Perth.
Something that we have known through the singer’s statements is that it was another artist who inspired her to release live TV, none other than Harry Styles. Apparently, it was at Coachella Fest when Harry premiered Boyfriends and announced that it was an unreleased song, Billie was inspired to do the same with TV.
On the other hand, The 30th was the first song she wrote since Happier Than Ever, and according to the artist confessed she wrote it on December 30th, a month after her friend’s accident that marked her so much on November 30th. According to her statements she left aside all production to write that song, because she needed to do it.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a video clip of either of the two new songs, but it was something to be expected when they have been practically an unexpected leak. However, in social networks Billie has already made it clear that these are two very important songs for her and that she is happy to share them with her fans even though it has been earlier than planned.
