BMW has announced that is acquiring Alpina, the brand that had been making the coolest and most iconic modified BMWs during his foundation in 1965. Alpina will be absorbed by BMW group from 2025, when they are moving their production from Buchloe to BMW’s facilities.
Alpina was founded in 1965, and since that moment, they had been working closely BMW. They signed a contract in 2020 that extended their partnership since 2025, since that moment, they will be partnerships. But at the end of that contract, Alpina will be acquired by the German brand, that will mean BMW is getting the Alpina productions on their own production’s lines.
They still haven’t said anything about the financial details about the agreement, but they have explain things will operate from 2025. All the service, parts and accessories businesses will remain in Alpina’s Buchloe facilities, the assembly of Alpina’s cars will be removed to BMW’s production lines.
Pieter Nota, member of Administration Council of BMW, has declared that: “During more than 50 years, the Buchloe’s firm has proved how to offer a high quality car with a meticulous attention to the details. The BMW Group is inspiring for the same passion. Because of that, now we are getting involved in a new chapter of our long collaboration. The acquiring of the brand will allow to continue the legacy “.
Maybe, the Alpina’s workers will be damaged by this agreement. This accord will mean that a lot of people is going to be fired. But in a statement, BMW has said that: “offer those employees who will not be able to continue working at the Buchloe site a new position with the BMW Group and also help them find new jobs with suppliers and development partners”.
