Starring Lana Condor and Zoe Colletti, Boo Bitch has become Netflix’s latest hit in the field of horror and teen comedy series. The story centers on the death of the protagonist, an unexpected event that leads her to become a wandering spirit.
Erika (Lana Condor) is a young girl, very shy, who begins the series starting her last year of high school. Something that, as we already know, marks a milestone in the history of every teenager. But she is not alone, she has her best friend, Gia (Zoe Colletti), with whom she will face various dramas, romances and the typical difficulties of moving into adulthood. With the difference that shortly after starting, Erika will die.
Moreover, despite knowing that she has died, she is still visible to others and needs to find out why and if something ties her to this plane, to avoid becoming a sad spirit tied to a plane where she does not belong.
The miniseries, created by Tim Schauer, Kuba Soltysiak, Erin Ehrlich and Lauren Lungerich, is composed of eight chapters in which the protagonist will have to face the problems of being between life and death, with a clear humorous touch that will make the viewer laugh despite the poor suffering of our dear Erika Wu, the ghostly protagonist.
It is Erika herself who narrates the story, showing at first some feet of a deceased girl under a large dead moose. After introducing herself, the story flashes back to hours before the accident, and then our story begins.
The entire story centers around Erika’s unresolved issues, the main one being the promise she makes to her best friend to go to prom and finish high school together. However, she also has to discover the why of her new abilities and deal with a love that will not be able to bear fruit, because let’s remember that Erika is dead. Erika’s every obstacle and problem will gradually make her accept herself, which could lead to a sad outcome or a truly satisfying ending.
