Following the news of Korean hit group BTS‘ split due to mandatory military service, several individual projects of the group members prior to their departure to Korea have been known.
After Jin’s surprise Coldplay concert with the premiere of his song “The Astronaut”, this time RM, leader of the Korean group, announces the release of his new solo album. “Indigo”, the artist’s new album, is presented as one of the most powerful K-pop releases of this 2022.
The album has been highly anticipated by all fans of the Korean group, and it already has a release date. The album will see the light of day on December 2, 2022, marking his solo debut.
In addition, RM has opened up to Rolling Stone magazine, in which he says that his separation from the group has helped him focus on his private music, the one before the group, explaining that “I was a little rapper and lyricist when I was young. So it was a really intense 10 years as a team”.
The previews given of the albums already reflect the artist’s personality, as well as his tastes. This is reflected in the release of a box with words related to nature and dance, among other things. Thus, the purpose of the box is to give clear indications: it is recommended to listen to the songs at certain times of the day.
The artist has happily mentioned that he has been working on the project for 4 years, and assures that Indigo will be something different from his previous works.
Thus, RM becomes the third member of the group to release a solo album, following fellow members J-Hope and Jin.
