After such a long wait, the famous South Korean K-pop band, BTS, has finally confirmed that they will be making a comeback with new music this summer 2022. The group formed by RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook has prepared a comeback for June 10, which they announced at the end of their Permission To Dance on stage concerts in Las Vegas.

When we say comeback, we are referring to an expression used in the K-pop world to refer to a band’s comeback and the release of a new album. When a South Korean group announces a comeback, it means that they will release new music. This can be in the form of a mini-album (EP) or studio album. The trend in recent years is to release singles (pre-release singles) in anticipation of the main comeback.

The new album is eagerly awaited by ARMY, as the group’s last full-length release was BE, released in November 2020. Fans hope that this will be a full album and that they will once again focus on their characteristic songs in which they mix Korean and English. Since, last year 2021, we could only enjoy English singles and collaborations that were more intended to make themselves known to a general global audience.

After the last song during the Las Vegas concert, the members left the stage; however, the lights were turned off and the thank you message that always appeared after the end of the show was not shown. Before this, a video was shown in which scenes from their old videoclips appeared, from their debut to Butter and Permission to Dance. At the end of this video the phrase “We are bulletproof” can be seen next to the date of the comeback. This video, and therefore the date of their comeback, was later confirmed by the boys’ agency, Big Hit Music, in a statement.

In addition, there were many rumors that BTS was filming a new music video in Las Vegas, as their stylists, producers and directors of their music videos had traveled to the United States with them. Also, during a live that the group did, the members commented that they had to cancel a shoot due to bad weather. So the speculations were true.

For the moment there are no official details about a new videoclip and also about a new world tour. However, after the Grammy Awards, a report released in South Korea seemed to indicate that the boyband might have a world tour in the third quarter of 2022.

Moreover, on the red carpet of the said awards, Namjoon, the group’s leader, mentioned that he was looking forward to “a tour.” This could be an additional hint that more ARMYs around the world will be able to see Bangtan’s live shows.
