Philadelphia has one of the most interesting teams to follow this season. Last year, they lost against Miami Heat in second round and they traded Ben Simons for James Harden. Will the duo Harden Embiid be able to win the NBA?
The 76ers guard explained how he managed to lose weight to get in shape. “This last year and half, I really wasn’t healthy enough to put the proper work in like I’m used to,” Harden said. “This summer was huge for me in that aspect.” Well, it sounds as if Harden put in the work ahead of the 2022–23 season. He said he has lost “100 pounds” this offseason.
Joel Embiid is one of the best players in the league and one of the candidates to win the MVP at the end of the regular season. He could have easily taken home the hardware in the last two campaigns, as you could argue he’s the best two-way player in the Association right now. His last year was amazing, the 28-year-old averaged a league-leading 30.6 points per game (61.6 percent true shooting), 11.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals.
Philadelphia 76ers has been effectively reinforced in order to fight with guarantees for the ring. It cannot be sustained much longer than Joel Embiid can not be without being in a NBA Final, so they have made an effort to maintain the competitive block of last year and reinforce it with interesting pieces, such as Montrezl Harrell.
This will be the first full season for James Harden and Joel Embiid and therefore, team cohesion will be key for the superstar duo. From veteran Tobias Harris to promising young star Tyrese Maxey, the 76ers roster looks poised for a big season.
