Despite the many ups and downs they’ve had since meeting, Cardi B and Offset have commemorated their wedding day with matching tattoos. Drawn by themselves and also marked in ink with their hands, the tattoos read ‘9/20/2017’ horizontally, the date they gave each other the ‘Yes, I do’.
Cardi B and Offset are not that they are the best tattoo artists, that’s why they counted on celebrity tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado, who had already participated in Cardi’s reality show Cardi Tries on Facebook Watch. Nikko oversaw the tattoo process the entire time to make sure it was perfect. When they hold hands, the dates line up perfectly, making the new ink that much more romantic.
The date references when Cardi B and Offset got married in September 2017. The wedding was in secret after only a month of dating after separating from their respective partners. Cardi, broke off the relationship with Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, and Offset, broke up with Kiari Kendrell. A year after the wedding, the couple welcomed their first daughter Kulture, now 3 years old.
Although the couple was never very fluid they were always affectionate on social media. Cardi B spoke about her husband’s slip up. “When my husband and I got into our problems, you know, he cheated on me and all that, and I decided to stay with him and work with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women were disappointed in me,” she said the years after having her daughter.
Cardi called off the divorce several weeks later, and the two announced a second pregnancy: welcoming a son in September 2021 . Now the two enjoy a timeless tattoo that recalls the happiest day of their lives.
