Here’s the first look at Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams in the upcoming Netflix series “Wednesday”.
The 52-year-old actress sported the “Addams Family” character’s distinctive floor-length black dress, long black hair and dark lipstick in recent images, which were also revealed Wednesday.
Zeta-Jones follows in the footsteps of actress Anjelica Huston, who played the creepy mother figure in two “Addams” films in the 1990s.
Along with Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley and Luis Guzman as Morticia’s husband Gomez, the terrifying images also show a black and white family portrait.

The 19-year-old star of the series, Ortega, wore a more contemporary pop-punk style instead of Wednesday’s familiar collared dress with braids.
Guzman, 65, is pictured among his fictional children, while the younger Ortega is dressed in a pinstripe suit, black army boots and a striped shirt.
The main cast is completed by Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Thora Birch, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Hunter Doohan and Georgie Farmer.
The coming of age series follows Wednesday as she tries to control her psychic abilities during her time at Nevermore Academy.
She also encounters a serial killer terrorising the neighbourhood, and the show will follow her efforts to solve a paranormal mystery that shocked her parents 25 years ago.
The eight-episode series will also feature Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the 1991 sitcom “The Addams Family” and its 1993 sequel “Addams Family Values,” both directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
The trailer for the series was released by Netflix on Wednesday. The Tim Burton-produced series, which was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar of “Smallville” and has an unspecified formal release date, is “coming soon” to the streaming platform.
