Chris Hemsworth joined Disney+ and National Geographic with the idea of facing the limits of existence in addition to seeking ways to extend human life. Unfortunately, the actor during the filming of the series took away a horrible news.
The trailer of Chris’s work, “Limitless” was released some time ago. In it you can see some of the most extreme things he had to do to carry out the filming. For example, he can be seen hanging from a rope in a cannon or diving in extreme temperatures. Now it is possible to see all these amazing acts on the Disney+ platform.
With the premiere of the series he has also let know one of the worst news that could give the interpreter of Thor: he has been diagnosed with a high chance of having Alzheimer’s. Although he received this news when he shot one of the episodes of the series, the actor decided not to make it public at the time. During this episode, titled “Memory”, a group of aging experts gave Hemsworth a medical analysis. As a result, doctors found in his genetic code an unusual combination that multiplies by between 8 and 10 times the possibility of suffering Alzheimer’s disease in front of a normal patient.
Upon learning the result of the test the director of the series, Darren Aronfsky, decided to give the actor the results outside of the filming as it is a rather delicate and unexpected subject. Although the main idea of the program is to educate about these things, Darren thought it unethical to make it public without the consent of the Australian. Once Liam’s brother learned the results he gave permission to the creators of the program to discuss the issue in chapters to raise awareness.
Now that the news is known, although Chris has continued to behave with his funny character, he has commented that he has decided to take some time away from the world of cinema. This decision is because doctors have recommended him to lead a stress-free and healthy life. During this time Elsa Pataky’s husband wants to clarify his thoughts and decide what is the best way to continue living while spending time with his children and the rest of his family.
The idea of suffering from Alzheimer’s already worried the actor since one of his grandparents is currently struggling with the disease. During an interview with Vanity Fair has confessed that “this has confirmed my biggest fears”. He added that “having an episode close to death and facing your own mortality has made me think ‘God, I’m not ready to leave yet’. I want to sit and be in this place of peace and gratitude”.
Chris’ case has also left his followers worried as having to fight this disease at the early age of 39 is complicated. Luckily it seems that he has found out in time and is already beginning to look for ways to prevent its development.
