At Paris Fashion Week we have seen a lot of shows that were impressive, but not quite this one. Loewe did it again! Under the creative direction of Jonathan Andersson they are putting against each other nature and technology, two themes that are in the mouth of everyone due to the rise of the Metaverse culture, in which a lot of people do not seem interest at all. The creative want to provoke questions to the public that see and experience the show about all of it.
The set was a pure white that helped to get the feeling that the the models where digital in contraposition of the nature that some of the pieces irradiated. The casting was very good following the beauty standards of the designer, rare faces and pretty thin guys. Makeup was a natural beat for sure, but is in the clothing where all the catch is at.
The Loewe SS23 Menswear was an ode to the relationship we are forging with nature and technology, and this can be interconnected. The fabric used for this collection were the typical leather used by the company for years, and stereotypical ones for the garments that looked simpler. But all of them with a twist, that reflect the world of the designer behind the brand, a surrealistic one.
Screens were added to some of the garments showing nature through it, while in other cases plants were growing out of textiles. This last experiment was made with the help of Paula Ulargui Escalona, a bio-designer that after finishing her studies she decided to follow the path of sustainability and the capability to grow live from a garment. The iconic Puzzle bag was reformulated, new options for shoes were presented as well as some essentials for your wardrobe (hoodies, leggins). Loewe has created and unbeatable world of double entendre through a well curated selection of pieces.
