The American automaker Drako has teased its next car that is going to be launched in 2023, the Drako Dragon. This company rise to fame in 2019 when they launched the Drako GTE, a special supercar with just 25 examples priced in $1.3 million. With this Drako Dragon the automaker enters in the SUV’s market.
They have shown some images and have revealed some information about the car. It will be all-electric, the top speed, in spite of being a SUV, will be over 200 mph, while the sprint to 60 mph is said to take 1.9 seconds with the quarter-mile supposedly arriving in 9.0 seconds. It will have a 2000-hp quad-motor setup and an in-house-developed battery. And the brand has said that “will be an adaptive three-stage suspension and individual control of each wheel’s torque”.
This car has been developed in United States and Italy. The engineering work for the Dragon has been taken place in Silicon Valley, but the design has been in Italy by Lowie Vermeersch, who previously acted as design director at Pininfarina and styled the GTE, so he worked for the company previously.
With the images we can see more information, it shows gullwing doors, flying buttresses, and a large scoop on the Hood. It includes diagonal LED lines in both the headlights and taillights, and the Dragon appears to have curvy bodywork and an athletic stance. About the interior, the automaker has said “it will be wrapped in Europe’s finest, most sumptuous leather” and will seat five”.
Drako has said that they will reveal more information later in 2022. About the price, the company has said “it will be priced competitively to the existing super-SUV segment”, so seeing the price of similar SUVs in the market, it will be priced in $200,000 range. We have to wait to know more information.
