Dylan Sprouse, celebrated actor, and his long-time partner, supermodel Barbara Palvin, have publicly announced their engagement. The announcement comes almost a year after the actor had actually proposed. This Hollywood power couple, together since 2018, unveiled their big news on Instagram this Thursday. They shared stunning photos of themselves dressed in full wedding outfits, gracing the Fall 2023 cover of V magazine.
In the magazine’s exclusive interview conducted by Dylan’s twin brother, Cole Sprouse, the 30-year-old actor disclosed that he popped the question in September of the preceding year. Dylan mentioned, “We didn’t feel compelled to fully broadcast that chapter of our engagement journey.”
Despite the secrecy around the proposal details, the duo disclosed plans for a destination wedding in Hungary, the birthplace of the Victoria’s Secret model, with Cole donning the hat of the best man.
Unfazed by the looming wedding, 29-year-old Palvin confessed, “The engagement process was more nerve-wracking than the wedding. A man has time to map out the proposal—Dylan had the ring for seven months before he proposed—but for me, it was a moment of surprise.”
She further added, “From the moment we began dating, I knew I wanted to marry him, but it’s a monumental decision to make.”
However, Dylan admitted to having a particular wedding-related stress. “To be honest, it’s the first dance. I’m slightly nervous about a choreographed dance routine,” he stated, before concedely admitting, “I’m not exactly skilled at dancing.”
The duo’s romance commenced in 2018 when the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” star reached out to the model through a direct message. “I didn’t respond to him for six months,” Palvin candidly admitted.
When she finally decided to connect with Dylan, he was just about to fly to China for a six-month film project. “You’ve chosen the worst possible timing,” Dylan humorously commented to his then soon-to-be fiancée.
Initially, Palvin thought this might be a stroke of destiny as she was scheduled for a campaign in China around the same period. But her trip got canceled later. Dylan, also known for his role in “Big Daddy”, offered to have Palvin join him in China during the film shoot. He suggested, “Let’s embrace romance and stick with our original plan. I’ll fly you over, and we can enjoy time in Beijing.”
Palvin quickly responded, “I love that idea, but I’ll handle my own ticket purchase.”
Palvin also unveiled how their shared affection for the anime series “Naruto” brought them closer. She recounted the moment she “fell head over heels in love” when Dylan did an imitation of their favorite character, Akamaru, recording him in slow motion as he jumped and spun mid-air to land on the bed. “It’s the video I treasure most,” the bride-to-be disclosed.
