One of the biggest controversies of the year comes to an end with a nice reconciliation.
On Saturday Madonna posted a message, which she later deleted, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her book. At first what she wanted was to vindicate her role in feminism but it became a fight motive through social networks between her and the rapper Cardi B.
The publication of the book entitled “Sex” was very risky so long ago as it contains images of the queen of pop naked in addition to photos in which it is seen how men kiss each other, women kissing other women and the singer kissing all of them. She narrated how for years journalists tried to make her ashamed of the book and how they insulted her. The artist, in the same post in which she commented this added that thanks to her and her book now some celebrities have more freedom.
Madonna completed the message with examples such as that Cardi B can sing about her WAP (set ass pussy), Kim Kardashian can appear naked on the cover of any magazine and Miley Cyrus can climb on a wrecking ball. She also ended up adding “you’re welcome, bitches” followed by a clown emoji.
At the moment there were already thousands of comments criticizing the message of the singer but the one that stood out the most was the one who wrote the interpreter of “WAP”. In her reply the American was disappointed since she idolized Madonna and has paid homage to her many times but thinks that it is not normal to speak with that tone.
The fight has not lasted long as both protagonists of the drama have posted tweets clarifying that they have already reconciled. Apparently they’ve made peace between nice words thanks to a phone call in which they cleared everything up. The rapper in her tweet said that she is very sensitive and that the comment of Madonna had affected her so much because she was her idol. This message was answered by the queen of pop saying that she loves her and that she always will. Finally, Cardi B replied with another “I love you” next to an emoticon of a heart.
It is not known if the interpreter of “Vogue” have had any conversation with Miley Cyrus or with Kim Kardashian about the post, but the important thing is that she has made peace with Cardi B since the rapper has always defended and supported her as a great feminist reference.
Let’s hope this was the last time that Madonna gets involved in a fight as she had had an altercation with Lady Gaga in 2011 and with Mariah Carey since 1996.
