There be more and more flying machines in the world, and one of the most surprising is the Flyboard Air, a flying platform that looks like a giant drone, but is a personal flying vehicle. This product has been made by Franky Zapata, a French jet-ski world champion. Zapata has presented this technology as “a safety, easy and light platform that have the easiest to drive aviation personal system ever made”.
The system works with a turbines system that promise more capacity to raise the gadget than other methods. The autonomy of the Flyboard Air is only 10 minutes and have a range of 4 kilometres. It is like a hoverboard, it is designed to be piloted with not much training and it is controlled by the body swinging of the pilot. It is allowed to get 200 km/h, but until this moment it has achieved 150 km/h. It can support 100 kilogrammes, but it is designed to support the double.
It is so safety, it is programed for if one of the turbine fails, do not happen anything, and in the case that two turbines fail, the object makes a controlled descent. That is because the turbines have an independent electronic system, so it can only fail separately. The pilot has in the helmet information of the altitude, speed and the levels of the autonomy every time.
This product was designed and proved in 2018 and 2019, and until this moment it has not suffered important changes. It is only used for military situations, like evacuations or rescue missions, industry, like the reparation of some structures or the distribution of some products, and commercial entertainment, like TV programmes, films or experiences that the company offers. It can’t be bought by everybody at the moment, but with the evolution that all this products are suffering, maybe we will be able to buy this product in not much time.
