The Czech engineer and pilot Pavel Brezina, the Nirvana Systems´ company owner, has invented a concept of flying vehicle, a mini-helicopter roll over the road and can fly, that has been called GyroDrive, as the company has secured. This project is very different from the others flying vehicles project, because the most of them try to make a flying car with plane or drone technology, this is with helicopter technology.
The inventor has said that: “This is the unique flying vehicle with road certificate. The others try to build a car with a great speed that can also fly, but it is not the same”. This vehicle has been built with a mini-helicopter base, and have a rotor that can go up and go down and a propeller for the jet propulsion.
The company buys the gyroplanes with fuel engines and change that to an electric to roll over the road. Over the road, it maximum speed is 40 km/h, and has a capacity for two passengers. The vehicle is resistant to the wind, snow and rain and needs 100 meters to take off. It maximum speed during the fly is 180 km/h. Passing from flying mode to road mode is very simple, the driver has only to pin down the principal rotor.
The initial price for this GyroDrive is 57,000€, but it is expected to be 151,000€ if the market of this vehicle increase. This is a new very interesting concept of a flying vehicle, we are accustomed to flying vehicles that are like cars, but this looks like a helicopter. It is clear that it needs to be improved, for example, the speed on the road has to be faster to be driven on a freeway, but this is the initial version of this project, for sure it is going to be improved.
