Maldives is a country that offers a wealth of exclusive plans. There are a variety of five-star resorts on these paradisiacal islands, set around breathtaking turquoise waters and majestic underwater life. This bucolic setting is combined with world-class dining. The Maldives boasts places so incredibly unique that they can only be found there. Such is the case with the world’s first underwater restaurant, located on Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, a 5-star resort island in the South Ari Atoll of the Maldives.

If culinary experiences are an essential part of your life as well as your travels, you should definitely check out this award-winning underwater restaurant. As the world’s first of its kind, it offers every luxury imaginable. In Dhivehi, the native language of the Maldives, Ithaa means “mother of pearls.” Located five meters below sea level, the restaurant offers 180-degree panoramic views of marine life. Check out the surrounding coral garden and watch sharks, fish and turtles as you sip your cocktail and enjoy dinner. Meals include a seven-course menu. Guests should not miss the cheese and wine, as the Ithaa Undersea restaurant also offers up to 100 of the best types of cheese in the world and has an underwater wine cellar with more than 20,000 bottles of the finest wines. This curious restaurant belongs to the Hilton Maldives Resort and Spa Hotel. No wonder this restaurant has received numerous awards as “Global Restaurant of the Year” in 2017.

The cuisine is local contemporary. This means that it uses traditional Maldivian spices and flavors in its dishes, while maintaining a concept with a Western twist. Curious sharks, rays and other reef fish watch the restaurant’s patrons as they lunge with their exquisite dishes, such as curried “dhal” or “Faru man” reef fish, which are among the dishes currently on offer in the Maldives.
A meal at the restaurant costs $170 per person for half and full plan guests, and $200 for passing guests.
