It’s no secret that Jacob Elordi wasn’t very comfortable playing Noah Flynn during ‘ The kissing booth’, the Netflix trilogy that made him famous. Not only because of the story itself, but also because he had to deal with sex scenes with his ex-girlfriend, Joey King, the star of the saga. Fortunately, then came his role in ‘Euphoria’, Nate Jacobs, who even if we hate him on more than one occasion, has stolen our hearts thanks to his brilliant performance.
Season 3 of ‘Euphoria’ is confirmed, filming has not yet begun, but the actor has just revealed that he reconsidered leaving the world of acting when his first film was released in 2018. He told GQ in an interview, where he confesses that this episode started when he woke up the day after the release and had four million new followers on Instagram: ”I had to go through my profile and delete my high school photos. It was the Instagram I used for my private life”.
After this incident, she reflected on her career, still aware that it may sound ”sensitive and dramatic. But I’m a sensitive and dramatic person. I hate being a character for the public, I feel so far away from myself. I felt like I was suddenly a poster, like I was for sale. Then it started to take its toll on me mentally. I wasn’t sure if I was doing things right. It distorted my point of view. It creates a kind of paranoid way of life. Wow.
Luckily, and we assume with professional help, he decided to pursue his career and is now immersed in the production of several films. And, of course, he’s psyched to play Nate Jacobs once again.
Jacob said that the kind of fame he experienced after the first Kissing Booth film on Netflix “really distorts your point of view” and “creates a very paranoid way of life”. This led him to consider giving up acting altogether. “I hated being a character for the audience,” he continued. Specifically, Elordi recalls rumours that he had called the paparazzi himself as an event that affected his emotional well-being. “I felt so far away from myself.”
