Simon Porte Jacquemus has been one the designers of the moment since he was nominated for the LVMH Prize. After that, his work was starting to see a lot of exposure from international media and became the Instagram brand of the moment. This last collections has been a lot of fun with color and shapes, getting into Pop culture and referencing a lot of artist from Pop Art. But now, he want a fresh start and this show is his new presentation letter.

Two boys started the show in the incredible salt hills next to Arles, in the South of France, when they hugged each other. Love, sophistication and neutrality is what the designer want to express through this new era for the brand. He wants to embrace his couture side and become a reference for bridal without forgetting his sporty clients. The Nike collaboration was represented by the sneakers that some of the models were wearing, the rest of it was presented a day later in his web. Different from Le Splash collection in Hawaii, this time he invited a lot of international press and different celebrities to become part and admire the new path for Jacquemus.

The Jacquemus FW22 has been a dreamy mix of sporty elements with the finest moments of the brand. His growth in terms of popularity made the designer questioned how he was making the pieces so for this show he wanted to present new ideas with a new blank canvas, that is why is called Le Papier.

For womenswear, he implemented the same formula that has been working for the brand but he chose a neutral color scheme and simple cuts that show some sensuality to the people that wear the clothing. For menswear, played with a lot of tailoring fusing it with loose silhouettes. All of this with an extremely care and choosing simple materials that reinforce the idea that the design is the important part of the garment.

In conclusion, a runway show where the set was unforgettable and the clothes can become essentials for a lot of celebrities classic Jacquemus at his finest.
