The star who made his name on the Supernatural series signs on to the project being developed by CD Comics. Jensen Ackles is joining the mysterious project and it looks like the head of Arrowverse and the company’s other in-house series, Greg Berlanti, is attached. While there are still very few details, if Jensen Ackles’ involvement in this project is confirmed.
Ackles had mentioned the project during a podcast interview, but never went into depth, saying, “There’s a DC property that I’m currently developing with Warner Bros. and some other good partners.” He didn’t name any names, however, and vowed to remain silent, because he “doesn’t want to jinx it.”
During the show’s 15 seasons on the air, Ackles played Dean Winchester, one of the two main characters on Supernatural, a WB series. He then continued his run as Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season of The Boys. The actor has always loved the supernatural and superhero related stuff.
While for Berlanti the goal has been to guide what has become the largest superhero universe on television on The CW. He participated and directed series such as Arrowverse, which would later include Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman and Black Lightning. All a statement of intent against Marvel, who is also taking known stars for their next installments.
Now, given the amount of DC characters at the disposal of the Supernatural star, there are endless possibilities of what this project could be. But, the biggest mystery is whether or not Ackles will also star in it. Warner Bros has yet to say anything about the mysterious project, though anything could happen.
