At the head of the tournament from the first day to the last, the American golf player JT Poston finished off his clear dominance in the John Deere Classic this Sunday and took the tittle with the Argentine Emiliano Grillo tied for second position with the South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
Poston, who last week came close to winning the Travelers Championship (in the end his compatriot Xander Schauffele won), was able to sing victory at the John Deere Classic with a -2 card on Sunday (four birdies and two bogeys) and a -21 in all.
The American had reached the last day with a three-stroke advantage over his pursuers and knew how to maintain that margin until the end. For his part, Grillo achieved a -2 this Sunday (four birdies and two bogeys) with which he closed his stupendous participation in the tournament with -18 in total.
Bezuidenhout pressed the last day with a great -5 (five birdies without bogeys). But, like Grillo, he was left with a -18 in total that placed him three shots behind the champion. In the TPC Deere Run, in the community of Silvis (Illinois, USA) another Argentinean also participated , Fabian Gomez, who signed a very creditable -5 on the last day to finish with -8 in total.
The John Deere Classic has been held on the same days that LIV Golf, the new and controversial league financed by the Saudi Arabian government, has held the Portland Invitational in Portand (USA).
