One of the biggest debates as far as film history is concerned is undoubtedly why the character of Kate Winslet on Titanic did not share the table with the character of Leonardo DiCaprio. During the 25 years that have passed since the film’s release, theories and hypotheses have been created about if the two could really have been on the plank when the ship sank to save theirselves.
The famous scene of the movie Titanic has been all this time making many people defend that both could have been saved because the two entered the plank. This rumor has never been answered until now that the actress who played Rose, Kate Winslet, has decided to reveal whether this was possible or not.
The moment that the actress has chosen for it has been during an interview for the podcast Happy Sad Confused. Winslet went there to promote her new film, Avatar. The sense of water, which by chance, is directed by the same director as Titanic, James Cameron.
As for the puzzle of the plank, Kate wanted to give her point of view: “I don’t know. That’s the answer. I don’t know. Look, all I can tell you is that I have a decent understanding of water and how it behaves”. She added that “If you put two adults on a rowing board, it immediately becomes extremely unstable. That’s for sure”.
It seemed that her statement was going to stay there but finally the actress expressed that she did not believe that Jack had survived. ” I have to be honest: I really don’t think we would have survived if the two of us had gotten to that door. I think it would have fit, but it would have been overturned and would not have been a sustainable idea,” she revealed.
Due to the great fame of this enigma James Cameron is creating a documentary to explain the reasons why it is impossible for Jack to have survived climbing the door with Rose. This work does not yet have a release date, so we will have to wait to see it. However, the director has said that the character of Leonardo Dicaprio still had to die in order for the story to make sense.
Although two members of the film have already revealed that it was impossible for both to enter the table, Titanic fans will continue to believe in the theory that Jack could have been saved and creating memes about it. Will Cameron change their minds when his documentary comes out?
