Finally, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially divorced. A process that has end through an agreement on the custody of their children and their property.
After nine months since Kim was declared legally unmarried during a court hearing and more than a year after she filed for divorce, the divorce has just come to an end. The couple started dating in 2012 and after two years they were already getting married. It was not until 2020 that rumors of a possible crisis among them began due to West’s candidacy for the presidency of the United States.
According to People magazine, the businesswoman and the rapper will share the physical and legal custody of their children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. The designer, now known as Ye, is required to pay $200,000 a month for child support to Kim. At first this amount sounds enormous but has been set taking into account the fortune they both possess. Although now West has just come off the Forbes list of the richest people in the world due to his racist and anti-Semitic behavior, he still has enough money to be able to afford this amount since his fortune is valued at 400 million dollars.
As for Kardashian, she has also been this last year on the Forbes list of a thousand millionaires but her fortune does not become that of her ex-husband. She has earned this money thanks to her makeup brand KKW Beauty, her brand of Skims girdles, the facial care SKKN and her famous reality Keeping up with the Kardashians.
In addition to the money, it has become clear in the divorce agreement that both parents have to decide jointly any decision related to their children, such as which school they will attend or the religious activities they will perform. Children’s education, medical or safety expenses must be half-paid. Other decisions they have made have been that the children will not be able to leave more than 100 kilometers from their mother’s house until they are 19 years old and that on special occasions such as their birthdays, each parent will have the right to be with their children.
As for their common property, the couple divided their properties following the premarital agreement they signed at the time.
