Lamborghini has been always a supercar builder automaker, but now they are introducing in the SUV world with the Urus. But, they are trying to make the SUV the most similar possible to a supercar, that is why the Italian automaker has made some improvements for the next SUV that they are launching next year, Urus Performante. It has to be reminded that the company has the SUV record of a lap in WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, so can be said that they have the fastest SUV.
The company has introduced some mechanical updates. It has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 only produces an extra 16 horsepower than the previous version for a total of 657, the torque is unchanged at 627 lb-ft, so it makes that this car pass from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds as the company has said. The top speed is 190 mph. And can be stopped from 62 mph to 0 in 108 feet. It has been added carbon fiber panels, but carbon fiber roof is optional, and the hood can be clear-coated or painted body color. One of this principal novelties is the wheels that this model use, it comes with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R barely street-legal tires, being the first SUV to use those wheels.
This model has had some updates in the software. For example, engineers got the traction and stability control systems to work more efficiently with the all-wheel drive controller. The automaker has updated the Urus Performante‘s drive modes and even added a new one, the Rally mode for tearing up dirt and gravel roads.
Lamborghini has claimed that this model will be in the buyer’s hands by the end of 2022. This Urus will be $50,000 more expensive than the standard version, the Urus Performante has been priced in $260,676.
