The French company Lazareth Auto-moto, founded by Ludovic Lazareth, has designed a new concept of individual flying vehicle, a flying motorcycle. This brand is known for its innovative designs, and this flying motorcycle, called Lazareth LM847 is one of those incredible designs and looks like it has been taken off a science fiction film.
This motorcycle has four tipper wheels, perimeter disc front brakes, and a V-8 4.7 liter Maserati engine that generates 470 horsepower. The motorcycle has a weigh of 408 kilogrammes. All those characteristics makes the motorcycle a unique vehicle in the market. The wheels has safety parachutes.
The company has designed an improved version that has been called LMV496 Moto Volante with the same engine of the original version, but has been added an electric engine giving the vehicle 95 kilometres of autonomy. The vehicle has four turbines that allow the motorcycle to fly, this turbines give the vehicle an autonomy of ten minutes of flight. The turbines has been designed by JetCat and each turbine spin at 96,000 revolutions per minute, that is why the vehicle has been named 496. The designer has said “The total power is 1,300 horsepower. To pass from road mode to fly mode is enough with pressing a button in the control panel”.
The pilot has a screen to see the speed, the height, position, speed of the turbines and all the things that is necessary to drive it. The bodywork has been made with carbon fiber and Kevlar. The company has secured that is too easy to drive and very comfortable for the driver and all the things that they have learned will be added in future projects.
The company has made five copies at the time and have launched it to the market with a price of $560,000. This product was launched some years ago, but the company has not revealed if they have sold all the copies, so this is the web to contact with them: www.lazareth.fr/contact/.
