Lindsay Lohan has stepped into the world of parenthood! The renowned actress, aged 37, along with her spouse, Bader Shammas, recently became the proud parents of a “handsome, robust son” whom they’ve named Luai. This delightful news was verified by Leslie Sloane, Lohan’s spokesperson, to USA TODAY on Monday. The precise date of Luai’s arrival remains undisclosed.
Sloane conveyed, in a statement, that the family’s joy knows no bounds. In Arabic, Luai translates to “shield” or “protector.”
Lohan made her pregnancy public back in March when she posted a picture of a baby onesie on her Instagram account, hinting at the upcoming arrival with a “coming soon” caption. “We are thrilled and feel fortunate!” she wrote, adding baby emoticons to her caption.
The star of “The Parent Trap” kept her fans in the loop about her pregnancy journey, sharing glimpses of her baby shower in April that was attended by close family and friends.
The actress expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am so grateful for all the amazing people in my life.” She also shared a photograph in May where she relaxed by a pool, flaunting her blossoming baby bump.
Her transition into motherhood has been embraced with warm wishes and useful parenting tips from numerous celebrities, including Paris Hilton, who herself became a mother for the first time with husband Carter Reum in January.
In a conversation with Access Hollywood in March, the 42-year-old Hilton expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m ecstatic for her. It’s wonderful to see my friends maturing and starting their own families. My piece of advice would be to cherish every moment as they are simply priceless.”
This newborn marks the first child for both Lohan and Shammas.
Their parenting journey comes just a year after the actress revealed her wedlock to the financier in July 2022. The duo had been engaged since November 2021.
Lohan expressed her elation last July, writing, “I am the most fortunate woman in the world. You found me, and knew I was in search of happiness and grace simultaneously.” She continued, “I am amazed that you are my husband. You are my life and my everything. Every woman deserves to feel this way every day.”
The birth of her first child earned Lohan well-wishes from Jamie Lee Curtis, her ‘movie mom’.
Jamie Lee Curtis took to Instagram on Monday to send Lohan her blessings on the arrival of her first child. She shared a recent picture with Lohan and a nostalgic picture from when they played mother-daughter roles in the 2003 movie “Freaky Friday”.
“MAGIC MONDAY!” Curtis penned, “My movie daugther just made me a movie grandmother. Blessings to Lindsay and Bader for the birth of Luai!”
