The Louis Vuitton FW22 Menswear was a show to remember. It was the culmination of the eights show of Virgil Abloh as the head designer of the menswear part of the brand. With the pieces that were put out, he wanted to create and reflect an oneiric world were men can wear anything, as they did in their childhood. In that time, people are getting to know themselves and are free of prejudices and accept everybody. That the fashion world that Virgil wanted to see so he tried to install it in the high spheres being the creative director of the masculine side of Louis Vuitton.
The garments represent every codes of Virgil’s work through out a Louis Vuitton vision. The formal wear with clean cuts but different silhouettes were a must. The streetwear pieces with excellent materials were a dream come true. And all the headpieces remind me of cartoons character in the best way possible. The sunglasses are good too for a boy with a lot of personality.
For the campaign, the creative team that worked along Virgil Abloh through out the year choose to represent the Dreamhouse collection as a group of human beings from all races and age groups that their desire to express who they really are align them. The video was directed by Tyrone Lebon and he put a cut from an interview of Virgil, where he expressed that only you as an individual can make yourself unique an different from each other, thanks to the decisions you make. A tribute the the greatest artistic director that the brand could even ask for, the first black man in such an important role of a high fashion brand at Paris.
