Louis Dreamhouse served as the last installment in the Virgil Abloh series being the creative director of the renown french house Louis Vuitton. After this show and the past of the arquitect, the creative team of the menswear side in the maison took some ideas that the designer had already and made the collection around it. As Virgil did, the resort and pre-fall collections are treated different from the main fashion show. Is the perfect occasion for the french house to present wearable and perfect to be in everyones wardrobe. Simple pattern clothes but with an explained concept over it.
The Louis Vuitton Menswear Resort 2023 is seen by the creative team as a perfect opportunity to focus on casual clothing with a coming-of-age theme to it. Thanks to some notes that Virgil Abloh left, the team was able to put a 43 look pre-season that is divided into two archetypes of individual: the music student and the concert goer.
As everyone knows, Virgil was a fan of music and a part of his life, remember that he worked as DJ sometimes. The sensibility in this case that he is trying to present with this concept is the division between the artist and the consumer, and how the same individual can be both.
We can see logomania all over the pieces as is recurrent in this brand, but this is mixed with some prints out of the usual. Streetwear still an element of repetition in this selection of pieces, but formality is present in some looks to break the rhythm of the collection. The intentions of the visionary, Virgil Abloh, with eachone of this pre-seasons were micro, but resulted in being a macro hit that caused impact through out all social media.
