Fashion-forward styles, hundreds of screaming fans, and a photocall full of celebrities, the Plaza de Callao in Madrid dresses up for the preview of ‘La Edad de la Ira’ (The Age of Anger). A red carpet where Alexander Magazine was present to learn more about the background of the series with its main character, Manu Ríos.
The exclusive series of ATRESplayer Premium aims to be a statement of intent by way of criticism. “You just have to think about society,” said Manu Ríos in front of our cameras. The series accompanies a reflection on “homophobia or sexism in today’s society” through the story of Marcos.
Without revealing much about Marcos, the character played by Manu Ríos, the actor tells us how the protagonist “grows up in an environment without freedom“. Marcos will also have to face a “father who does not support him” while he follows “a path that will make him discover himself“. The actor did not reveal much more but, without a doubt, it is a perfect match to make an attentive and committed audience reflect.
The name of the series says it all. The fact is that ‘La Edad de la Ira’ (The Age of Anger) refers to society’s anger with teenager. Nando López, the creator of this novel brought to the big screen, showed the violence suffered by many young people, who live in abusive environments, whether sexist or homophobic. However, the series “is not only for teenagers“, the actor told us, but also for “parents”. With the aim of “discussing in a feminine environment,” he said.
The red carpet on the famous Plaza de Callao (Madrid) was marked by the coming and going of the main actors and the most important influencers in Spain who did not miss it. The premiere of ‘La Edad de la Ira’ received the applause of a crowded square and shows why this series has everything it takes to not take your eyes off the screen.
