The Spin-Off Series Blood of My Blood Just Began Filming
While the second part of season 7 of Outlander has yet to premiere, the prequel based on the series announces its cast and begins filming. After two years in the making, the spin-off series Blood of My Blood has just started filming in Scotland.
The ten-episode program will focus on the parents of the leads in the main series, Jamie and Claire Fraser, and will be set in 18th-century Scotland and England at the height of the First World War.
As Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, Harriet Slater (Pennyworth) and Jamie Roy (Lifetime’s Your Boyfriend Is Mine) have been cast.
Hermione Corfield (We Hunt Together) and Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) will play Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, Claire’s parents.
It is now ten years since the first episode of Outlander was broadcast. While the end of season 7 and season 8 are on the way, the story itself will soon be coming to an end. Diana Gabaldon, author of the novels of the same name, is currently writing the tenth and final volume.
