After the great success that the American artist Megan Trainor has achieved with her hit single “Made You Look“, from the album “Takin It Back“, a new remix of the single was released on 27 January by the German pop artist Kim Petras, singer of “XXX“.
It was on 24 January that the artists confirmed the launch of the remix through a teaser shared on the Tik Tok social network to model the track, which was inspired by the American singer and songwriter’s physical insecurities.
The artist explained to Billboard that “It was one of the last songs I wrote for the album (…) I think everyone likes to sing a song that says ‘I’m amazing’ and after I had my baby I was struggling to love my body and I was having a hard time liking myself after the C-section (…). When I was at my worst I looked dirty and at home my husband would say ‘You are the most beautiful girl in the world. You’re the sexiest girl in the world. I wanted to put that in a song, and I wrote the chorus in the shower”. She added: “When I write my songs, I try to convey that feeling of ‘letting go’.
This would be the first collaboration of the two artists who have shown their good relationship in public, and after several months in which Petras confessed to have the single method in her head and compared it to a warm embrace, the artist does not hesitate to talk about their collaboration with a lot of emotion.
For the moment, the single has been received with open arms by fans, although it is expected that the numbers of its reproductions will rise even more.
