The first season of Marvel’s most adored villain, Loki, has proved to be a success. So much so that they have not taken long to confirm and launch the second season of the Disney+ series of which new details and rumors about what may or may not happen in the new adventures of Thor’s brother do not stop coming out.
Now that Marvel Studios has already started filming, we are slowly learning more details about season 2 of Loki. One of them is the great addition to the cast of the series of actor Rafael Casal. According to what has been reported, Casal has been spotted on the filming set and several sources assure that he will play an important role in the series. However, we still do not know what role it could be.
Many speculate that he could give life to Zaniac, a murderous entity capable of possessing people that debuted in issue 319 of The Mighty Thor comic book. Another detail that we have more than confirmed is the permanence of Tom Hiddleston in the role of Loki and Owen Wilson in the role of Mobius.
Undoubtedly, we can not ignore the great role played by Hiddleston in the success of Loki, not only for his excellent performance, but because we are all used to him being the spitting image of the eccentric god that Marvel fans have become so fond of. And one of the greatest successes of the series was to keep the same actor in the role of Loki, something not very common when fiction is transferred from the big screen to the small one.
Something that we are still not sure about but that will soon be confirmed in all likelihood is the permanence in the series of Gugu Mabtha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaki, Sophia DiMartino and Jonathan Majors. Although we do know that the main writer will be Eric Martin who will continue to count with Michael Waldron as executive producer.
We also do not know for sure what the premiere date of the season will be, but many rumor that at the rate it is going it will probably premiere during the next year 2023. In any case, we can only enjoy the idea that this elegant villain who has gone over to the side of the good guys has stayed and intends to continue fighting. Because of course, good or bad, we’re still talking about Loki.
