The legacy that Virgil Abloh established for Off-White is in good hands with IB Kamara and we can see why in the new campaign for FW22. The new Art & Image director of the brand has taken the aesthetic to a whole new level. In this photos he wanted to convey what the past and the future of the brand might result on, because the clothing assure the codes of the legendary designer and the taste on the takes assure a great and expectant future for the brand.
Through the images that are part of this campaign, the photographer Rafael Pavarotti presented an evolving brand vision that Off-White is always trying to reach. The campaign shooting took place in a Moroccan city, Chefchaouen, where all the building are blue changing to meaning of the city and predicting a good future having the traditional architecture in mind. The help to the Black community of Virgil Abloh is also reflected in the work of Kamara for the brand, as he is developing all of his ideas with the curated team that Abloh left in the brand and that are top tier in the whole industry.
The Off-White FW22 was an incredible tribute to the work that Virgil Abloh put out since the foundation of the brand in which all the codes he created and implanted where represented. All his friends and workmates were there to pay homage to a legend that sadly we lost. In this presentation, the team of Off-White finished what the designer was creating in the lab his last days on earth. They also presented a new fashion line in the brand where garments are constructed in a haute couture kind of way.
The silhouettes are the classic ones from the brand, where streetwear and formalwear are mixed and where pieces are constructed from a whole range of ideas. The Ablohisms where present as well, with the incorporation of quotes or the take of menswear that Virgil has always. The collection is called Spaceship Earth, as the team of the designer understand that the world is just a place to reap success into the afterlife, where all your standards are going to be live up to.
