The “driver’s license” singer has visited some programs to promote her album “GUTS“, giving unforgettable performances for the fans that saw her live.
The first place she visited was Tiny Desk past December 11. She hasn’t visited the program since 2021, when the singers couldn’t perform with actual people because of the pandemic precautions. This time, the singer visited the office of NPR music, where she sang some songs from her album “GUTS”. Olivia Rodrigo decided to sing 4 songs this time, “Love is embarrassing”, “Vampire”, “Lacy” and “Making the bed”.
The YouTube channel of NPR Music released the full video of her performances, so the fans can enjoy it whenever they want. The video last more than 18 minutes and already accumulates almost 2 million views.
On the video we can see Olivia in a room decorated as the aesthetic of her album, surrounded by musicians and singing live while playing sometimes the guitar or the piano.
In addition to conquering our ears with her sweet voice and surprising us with her production in the songs, Olivia wanted to tell curiosities about her work as a songwriter and how her album was formed.
Her team was formed by Hayley Brownell (drums), Moa Munoz (bass), Daisy Spencer (guitar), and last but not least, Ashley Morgan, Julia Gartha and Elizabeth Gaba (vocals).
A day after, December 12, Olivia visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This time, the “Good for you” singer performed her new song for “The hunger games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” Movie called “Can’t catch me now”.
For this performance, Olivia opted for a more careful aesthetic and a production more typical of television. She performs standing in the center of the stage while a set of lights illuminates the scene while she sings. The song combined with the visuals offers a relaxing and intimate performance.
The program also published the performance on their YouTube channel, where it has nearly 200,000 views.
Finally, Olivia Rodrigo visited SNL (Saturday Night Live) on December 9. After being presented by Adam Driver, the “ballad of a homeschooled girl” performer reminded everyone of her role as an actress.
The 20 years old artist sang an energetic and beautiful version of her single “Vampire” with a piano. We can review i ton their YouTube channel where the video accumulates almost half a million views.
But, although that moment was really enjoyed by the fans, the big surprise was when she sang “all-american bitch”. Just like the song, which begins with soft notes and tones, OIivia appears calm at a gathering with friends, preparing the table and serving tea. However, as soon as the instrumental begins to become much louder and with rock overtones, the singer loses control and causes destruction around her; breaks cups, throws cakes and climbs on the table.
After these performances, we can only imagine what fans could see during the ‘GUTS World Tour‘, which will begin on February 23, 2024 in Palm Springs, California (United States).
