Alejandro Gomez Palomo is a fashion designer from Spain that change the conception of menswear in his country and in the rest of the fashion world when he released his FW16 named Orlando. His themes are always surrounding history and homosexuality, he takes inspiration from the past and adapt it to the new masculinity. Palomo Spain as a brand was established and taken seriously after the release of his Hotel Palomo which was presented in Madrid in 2017, the year when his collabs with Spaniard celebrities started and from that moment on he worked with Kito Muñoz for every campaign, due to the similarity of aesthetic between the photographer and the brand itself.
The Puma x Palomo Spain was born out of the necessity of the Spaniard designer to translate all his creative world into a new fashion field like sportwear. His gender-neutral designs, his romantic cuts and silhouettes did not go away even if he is designing through football imaginary. The main inspiration was Johann Cruyff, the ultimate 70’s football icon, who also was a celebrity in his time and served as a fashion reference to society. The way designer and his team curated the pieces was by the process of infusing classic clothing from the archive of Puma into a fashionable garments that can be worn in the day-to-day basis. Furthermore, is the first collection between brands that is talking about an iconic sports person. Feel the uniqueness of the collection with a retro vibe to it by enjoying playing football in a stylish way.
