After 16 years of the premiere of the first film of ‘High School Musical’ the actors have met again but not for the reason that their fans want.
For several years fans of the musical trilogy have been dreaming of a fourth film in which the ex students of East High met at the end of college. Around social networks there are circulating several trailers of this desired encounter but although they look very real, unfortunately, they are fake.
A few months ago Zac Efron (Troy Bolton) and Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Monteith), protagonists of ‘High School Musical’, posed for instagram and Tiktok in front of the emblematic institute of Salt Lake City where the films were shot. In addition to them KayCee Stroh published several videos dancing through the famous corridors. This unleashed chaos among fans with rumors that a fourth film was going to become reality but it does not seem to be so as time passes and they have not yet done anything official.
Since the trilogy ended years ago the only known cast meetings were held in 2020, during confinement by the pandemic, through Zoom and another in 2016.
This week some of the actors met in person in Paris. The reason why Vanessa, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel and Bart Johnson have teamed up with Kenny Ortega, the film’s director, and Drew Seeley, who voiced Troy Bolton while singing, has been Back To The Musical World 2.
Although the reason for the reunion has not been desired by the fans, this meeting has left very beautiful moments as for example Vanessa Hudgens and Drew Seeley singing the famous song ‘Breaking Free’ live.
The next film of the trilogy is not yet real but for the new season the plot of the series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ is going to be about that the characters of the series when they return to the high school find that the long-awaited film High School Musical 4: The Reunion is being shot in it. For this, the series that is available through Disney+ will feature the return of Monique Coleman as Taylor McKessie, Johnson as the coach and Alyson Reed as Mrs. Darbus. It is not known if this season will also appear Corbin (Chad) and Lucas (Ryan), who were already part of previous seasons, and it is not yet confirmed the cameo of Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans) or Vanessa (Grabiella) or Zac (Troy), who are the only remaining cast members to appear in the sequel.
Hopefully this event in Paris has made the actors and the director propose to make a fourth film of ‘High School Musical‘, but until then we will have to settle for some of the Wildcats to appear in the fourth season of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’.
