The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Houston Astros 6-5 for game 1 of the 2022 World Series. ‘The phils’ lost 5-0 until the fourth inning. Meanwhile, in the fifth they matched the commitment. In extra time they managed to score a home run, an action that ended in victory. The next game will be this Saturday, October 29 at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Kyle Tucker started the Astros’ party with a solo home run in the second inning. In the third inning, Tucker appeared again with a three-run thunder that made it 5-0 in favor of the hosts. But contrary to what everyone would have thought, the spirit of the Phillies in the Playoffs has been their letter of introduction and they began to row based on their opportune hits.
Nick Castellanos‘ single put up the first run of the game for the visitors and the next batter, Alec Bohm, had a two-run double that pulled the Phillies within 3-5.
And from there, came the J.T. Realmut. In the top of the fifth inning, he hit a game-tying two-run double that kept Justin Verlander without his first World Series win.
