The English singer and songwriter Birdy has been one of the most listened to in recent years.
The interpreter of songs like ‘Raincatchers‘ or ‘Wings‘ has already talked about what will be her next studio album.
With this, the artist has revealed that “Portraits“, her new musical project, has been a real change for her. Thus, she explained that “Everything has changed a lot, it has been a tremendous journey (…) I was very shy when I started when I was 14 years old. But I have grown up, I have become more confident, now I have my music and in the last two albums I have recognized who I am and the world I want to create. I’m getting more involved in the production, in the composition and in everything”.
With this, the artist has commented that the new album was written during the time of confinement due to the global pandemic by the COVID-19, explaining that throughout these compositions she wanted to ignore a little more drama and focus on joy and dance, a desire that she assures will be noticed with the release, and is that “Portraits is about fantasy, inventing how someone is, wanting to be a way, a portrait. It’s a lot about the child inside us, about moments of my life, that’s how I thought of it, as portraits of different moments of my life. I started recording this album with the drums, that made me change the form, I had a great time”.
With this, it is known that the new album of the singer will be released on July 14, two years after her last album, “Young Heart“.
