For the latest menswear collection in Prada, the creative designers of the brand unified their minds to create an unique workwear selection of pieces with the brand’s codes on them. For that reason, they trusted the vision of David Sims and Ferdinando Verderi, photographer and creative director, to make the campaign in which different actors are represented in said workwear. Jeff Goldblum, Damson Idris and Rami Malek were the selected actors which each one had a still life photograph at his side that represented them in a way. They are exposing some of their private life through these still life pictures, but yuxtapositioning their public face wearing Prada’s clothing.
We need to go back a little in time to understand the collection from where this campaign is. The Prada FW22 Menswear is the parody of man power, with stereotypical garments weirdly proportionated, accentuating some parts of the body more than others. Body of Work is the name of the collection, in which Miuccia Prada and Raf Simon came to an unified approach of what it means menswear workwear for them.
Their main idea was to released clothing that was formal and practical for a working environment, because you do not want to look casual in this kind of places. Parodically, they are trying to dignify the idea of work through the elevation of its uniform. All of this searching for materials that were lightweight in yuxtaposition of what is typical in these spheres of power. The Prada spectrum is expanded again with the help of these amazing creatives into a modern workwear.
