There was much anticipation about the name and surname order of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ first child. Finally and for months since the birth of the child, the Hollywood media has revealed to the fans the name chosen by this well-known and famous couple.
The birth certificate highlighted that the name finally chosen by Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas was Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, with Priyanka’s last name first. A name that refers to her culture and means “little fragrant flower or moonlight“. This same certificate also reveals that the girl was born on January 15 in San Diego.
Chopra and Jonas made it clear that they preferred to keep their daughter’s life out of the media and TV cameras. They kept the baby’s significance under wraps but still fans have been keeping a close eye on the couple. “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”, they said through a statement via Instagram where they announced the birth in January.
Although they have not disclosed the new life as parents, people close to the family have made known the good atmosphere in the Chopra-Jonas household. Although fans have not stopped commenting on Malti’s name, the couple has not publicly commented on the name or given any kind of explanation as to why they chose it.
However, they recently shared a family photo celebrating their first Easter as parents featuring Malti. In the image they look happy and content despite the name revelation, surely because it had to be known at some point.
