Real Madrid did it again. The team of Carlo Ancelotti won Liverpool by 1-0 on a really difficult match for them. Thibaut Courtois was the MVP of the final and Vinicius scored the decisive goal for his team. This group of players won the fourteenth Champions League tittle for the entity, an amazing datum. Carlo Ancelotti won his fourth Champions League as coach. On another hand, Jurguen Klopp lost two tittles (Premier League and UCL) in less than a week. However, `reds´ are from now really confidence for the next season and with a lot of excitement to start it.
About the match, was really controlled by Liverpool. The England team had more possession, more chances and more game control during most part of the game. They had many goal chances (until 9 and 23 total). However, on the goal was Thibaut Courtois, probably the best goalkeeper of the season and one of the candidates to win the Golden Ball. “Tibu” made one of the best performances as a goalkeeper on a final. He saved some decisive shots from Mane or Salah and he showed us a lot of confidence and security under the goal. Some defenders like Carvajal (upgrading his level on this last part of the season) or Militao completed an awesome performance too. On the first half, referee cancelled a goal of Benzema because an offside. Was a big mistake that in the end did not influence on the final result.
Despite of Liverpool chances and control, Real Madrid won. Ancelotti knew how to drive the Liverpool play. The goal came from a really great collective play from more than 6 players. With 30 minutes left, Fede Valverde tried to shot into Allison goal but he made unintentionally an awesome assist to Vinicius. The Brazilian player scored without any pressure and gave to his team the fifth Champions on 8 years.
The rest of the match, Madrid had just to hold the result. The Camavinga and Dani Ceballos input helped the team to has more control and some freshness at the time to defend.
One day after winning the cup, all the squad made a tour at Madrid town hall and Almudena Cathedral.
They ended this season with a big celebration at Bernabeu and with an emotional farewell of a legend, Marcelo. He is the player with most tittles of club at the moment and he was very grateful with fans and coaching staff.
